From September 16th to 19th, the Baisiwei team carried out a three-day market research trip in Russia to gain insights into
the local tea beverage industry. At the Russian Food & Beverage Exhibition, we explored a variety of established beverage
solutions and visited the popular local chain Drink Point. While their product standards and taste profiles may not fully align
with the preferences of Chinese consumers, they are well-received by Russian customers—once again confirming that
“what suits the local market is what works best.”
We also visited several Chinese-style milk tea shops, including the consistently reliable Met Tea, as well as tea stores around
Moscow University. Although some of their products are quite popular, constraints in ingredient supply and staff training
have kept the overall standard somewhat behind that of China’s tea beverage market.
During the visit, our team also demonstrated at local restaurants how Baisiwei’s Fruit Tea Fusion Kit—which includes fruit
jam on one side and concentrated jasmine tea on the other—can easily be used to prepare a variety of drinks, such as fruit
tea smoothies, fruit tea soda, fruit tea vodka, and fruit milk tea. The fusion kit was highly praised by restaurant operators
for its convenience, efficiency, and consistent flavor. One owner mentioned that preparing beverages previously required
sourcing numerous ingredients—such as syrups, tea leaves, fruit juices, and jams—but due to varying skill levels among staff,
drink quality was often inconsistent, and material waste was significant. Baisiwei’s Fruit Tea Fusion Kit has provided them
with a new solution, improving not only the consistency of their offerings but also enhancing inventory management and
cost control.
Finally, we met with clients who have built successful tea ingredient wholesale businesses in Russia. They expressed that with
the growing presence of Chinese products in the Russian market, visiting China in person to discover high-quality new products
has become increasingly important. Our visit was therefore a welcome and encouraging opportunity for them.
